we live south chicagoland and close to the indiana border. me and my brother are looking for a great place to buy fireworks. he already got the real big stuff from a guy at work like full half and quarter sticks and 3' mortars. he spent like $1000 or that stuff. today we went to a place called Good Time Fireworks. it was a pretty cool store. they have name brand black cat and all that and EVERY thing was buy 1 get one free of the same item. we bought a lot of rockets and cakes and these huge tube things that are like 2 feet across that shoot multiple things. the total was $1400 and half off our total was $700 something. we got 2 of everything. i mean we got a good amount of stuff. so he told his wife we only spent $300. when she saw it all shes like thats all you got?? so my brother asked me to find a GREAT firework store with name brand huge things in indiana. any suggestions. no krazy kaplans or stupid places

I'm gonna answer your question because I see no one else is answering........

But first of all let me say..."What a waste of money!!!! You think saying how much you're spending on fireworks impresses anyone? I think it's really dumb! ALSO....It's not unheard of for police to bust cars with Illinois plates leaving the state line from fireworks stores. It's happens all the time this time of year.

ANYWAY ....Now to your question.....Fireworks stores pop up all over the place near the Indi/Illi border this time of year. They are pretty much all the same and change names and locations from year to year.

If you drive up and down any of these streets (north/south) in Hammond/Highland I'm sure you'll find many.

Calumet Ave.

Indianapolis Ave.

Kennedy Ave.

And there are some off of Cline Avenue too near these service roads River/179th ,15th.

There is a great fireworks store in Hammond Indiana called Dynamite Fireworks. Located just off the Skyway at the Calumet Avenue exit. Bottom of the ramp. Easy access and great prices, brands and selection. You will be impressed by the entire experience. They are open year round. I just left there [its November] and decided to show my appreciation by searching these Answer forums to help them out as well as the others who search for the best place to buy fireworks in northwest Indiana each year. Try them. You have nothing to lose and a lot go gain!
